Anonymity on YARGB

If anonymity is important to you, you should be careful about two things: 1) make sure your profile on blogger.com doesn't give too much away, 2) make sure your email is not obviously traceable.

For example, flenser's email is listed as flenser44@.... Anybody seeing him post under his new identity will be able to see that he is flenser too, unless his email isn't showing in his profile.

One way to handle it is to go to one of the free email sites like gmail.com and create a new, fake account.

Creating a New Alias on Blogger

Several people have asked me about this. It's easy and it works. I have my two identities now.

All that is necessary is:
1) Go to www.blogger.com
2) Click on "Create An Account"
3) Follow Directions
4) Once a new account is created, go to the top and use your new alias to sign in at the top.
5) Use the new username to join YARGB.

How to IM


Get an IM Account

Ok, I'm going out on a limb here. Having suggested some IM contact and gotten zero response, it occurred to me that some of you may not know what I'm talking about.

It's easy.

1) Go to www.aim.com
2) Download and install the client.
3) Pick a screen name.
4) Let us know what your screen name is.
5) Pull up the client.
6) Search for other people, like me (ReformedProfesso).

Cool! My first post under my new moniker.

I'd like to address the issue of anonymous posts. Roger frequently disparages anonymous posting, but it's very important to me that nobody at work know who I am. It wouldn't
help anything for them to read my pro-American drivel. That's one reason I'm abandoning WichitaBoy for this new name. There's a huge difference between Roger and me here. If I type "Roger L. Simon" into Google I get nothing. Type my name and a convenient
map will pop up, showing my house if you want. The danger is real.
